Hey you! I hope you are doing well today!
Tara’s Triangle, also known as Tara’s Social Triangle or Tara’s Clover, is a conceptual framework that describes human behavior within social groups.
Triangle Profile
An individual’s Triangle Profile is based on the measurement of three core attributes: Social Affinity, Social Consensus, and Social Engagement.
Social Affinity
The attribute of Social Affinity measures the scope of an individual’s social focus and the scale of their emotional and psychological investment in the group.
Constricted individuals tend to concentrate their social involvement on a smaller, more intimate group, such as close family, trusted friends, and immediate colleagues. They prioritize the well-being, security, and success of this tight-knit circle, often placing deep value on personal loyalty, tradition, and consistent support within these relationships.
Dilated individuals have a much broader social focus. They seek to engage with a wider range of people, extending their social investment beyond immediate circles to include extended networks, communities, or even society at large. Dilated individuals are often driven by egalitarian ideals, striving to contribute to the greater good and support efforts that benefit larger groups.
Social Consensus
The attribute of Social Consensus measures how individuals form their beliefs, make decisions, and respond to social expectations.
Reflexive individuals rely on their own beliefs, values, and internal compass to navigate decisions and social situations. They often resist external pressure to conform and may be more skeptical of popular trends or widely accepted ideas unless those align with their own convictions.
Surveyant individuals seek alignment with the group’s values, opinions, and expectations. They are more inclined to consider how others view a situation before forming their own stance. This does not mean they lack their own opinions, but they are more likely to seek advice, validate their choices through consensus, and adjust their behavior to match the expectations of their social environment.
Social Engagement
The attribute of Social Engagement measures how individuals approach influencing others, resolving conflicts, and engaging with those within social groups.
Abiding individuals respect differences in opinions, attitudes, and behaviors, allowing others the freedom to make their own choices without attempting to change or influence them.
Impelling individuals are more proactive in guiding and influencing others within the group. They are driven by a desire to align others with their own values, goals, and perspectives, often taking the lead in persuading or mobilizing others toward collective action.
